Nichols, NY — Park Street Blues (Braxten Boyd) claimed the $27,000 Summer Sensation Claiming Series Final Pace at Tioga Downs Saturday (Sept. 5) by a length over favored Gotta Go Gram.
Gotta Go Gram (Jim Pantaleano) forged to the front and led to the quarter in :27. The five year old zoomed to the half in :55.1 as Ouchie (Mike Merton) was first to make a move heading down the backstretch. Nineteenth Man A (Mitchell Cushing) then made a three-wide move to the front and led the field of nine to three quarters in 1:23.1.
As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher Gotta Go Gram reclaimed the lead. Park Street Blues ($5.46) then slipped through the inside, blasting on by to win in 1:53.1. Mickie Mantle (Ridge Warren) finished third.
Park Street Blues is a 6-year-old gelding by Heston Blue Chip. He is owned by the Wine Stable and trained by Tee Wine. Saturday’s score is his third win this year and his eighth career victory.
Jim Pantaleano notched a driving hat trick while Kevin Reynolds collected a training double.
