Georgetown, KY – Wilma Foster, 77, departed this life to meet her loving husband Ron and daughter Cheryl in Heaven on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, after a short illness.
Wilma was the daughter of Earl and Helen Hubbard; she was born on April 22, 1949, in Clay County. She was the beloved wife for 59 years to Ronnie Foster, who preceded her in death four months ago. Ron and Wilma shared careers in the Standardbred horse industry – Wilma in the office and Ron managing the farm. They worked together at Castleton Farm of Ohio and Dunroven Stud. Wilma was also a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church. God gives each of us special gifts for us to use in his work. Wilma’s gift was hospitality. If you met her you gained a friend and her door was always open and welcoming. She shared her meals with neighbors and family.
Wilma was the matron of all family gatherings and was well known for her cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings and homemade yeast rolls. You could always find her in the kitchen with a dish towel in hand.
Wilma leaves behind her two children, Ronnie Earl Foster and Ronda Foster of Georgetown, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and the following siblings: Sue Padgett, Pete Hubbard, Carl (Brenda) Hubbard, Ronnie Joe Hubbard, Rickey (Melissa) Hubbard and her personal assistant in all things, Jim Hubbard. Wilma came from a large family and married into a large one. She leaves behind a host of family members that will miss her greatly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday (Sept. 9) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Andy Waldrop, Eli Broughton and Chad Lindon officiating the service. The burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery with Bryan Hubbard, Ronnie Lee Hubbard, Brandon Hubbard, Shawn Williams, Charlie Foster and Scottie Foster serving as pallbearers.
