Harrington, DE — Jett Propelled ($5.40, Jason Thompson) gave her owner/trainer, Robert Shahan, the best birthday present on Tuesday (Oct. 8): a 1:54 win in the $22,500 Mares Open Pace at Harrington Raceway.
The 5-year-old Roddy’s Bags Again mare fought off a game Always B Merry to the finish for her 11th win of the season and third in a row from outside posts. Always B Merry was second with Scrivener Hanover third.
Jett Propelled has been the top mare on the circuit, banking nearly $230,000 this season.
Jett Propelled, a winner of nearly $600,000 in her career and Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund champion at 3, is having her best season to date following consecutive $100,000 seasons.
Brandon Givens and Trae Porter each had driving doubles.
Live racing at Harrington will continue on a Monday-through-Wednesday schedule through Oct. 21.
