Columbus, MN – The Tuesday night (Sept. 8) harness racing program at Running Aces shined the spotlight on the Minnesota-sired freshman trotters and pacers and both Slipped Onmybeans and Captain Ricky turned heads yet again to extend their winning streaks. Both are from the first Minnesota crop of pacers sired by Captainryanmichael.
Slipped Onmybeans rolled to her seventh straight triumph in the $16,000 filly “A” pace in 1:56.1 and checked home 2-1/2 lengths clear of Stormy Shores and Icing On The Cake. Dean Magee was the winning pilot for owner/trainer and breeder Scott Banitt.
It was the ninth win from 10 career starts for Slipped Onmybeans, who paid $2.10.
Captain Ricky advanced his scorecard to five in a row in the $16,000 male “A” division with a career best 1:54 mile over Heroic Honor and Bombi. Casey Leonard was in the driver’s seat for owners Alan and Cheryl Sandbulte and Stephanie Anfinson and trainer Justin Anfinson.
Captain Ricky, who paid $2.40, now shows seven wins from nine career outings.
Cash Money Twenty, by Stevensville, and driver Dean Magee rallied inside of Alta Revelry N and Nick Roland late to capture his 10th win of the year in the $17,000 Open Handicap pace with a 1:52.1 mile.
The $2.80 winner is owned by Heart And Soul Racing and trained by Brett Ballinger.
Turbo Tinker, by Big Oil, notched his fifth career win with a career best 2:01.4 showing in the $17,500 2-year-old male trot over Fossil Fuel and Matagi.
Casey Leonard drove the $5.40 winner for owners Cathy Dessert and Ken Stauffer and trainer Justin Anfinson.
JR’S Starburst, by World At War Deo, posted her second straight win in the freshman filly trot with a 2:02.2 score over Big Keliane and SD Count Trotula.
Leonard drove the $2.40 winner for owners Friendship Stables, George Dremonas and trainer Harold Herrera.
The other freshman pacing winners included Hotdog Money (Roland, $2.60) in 1:55.3 and Bee Cee Dee (Leonard, $6.80) in 1:55.1.
Casey Leonard led the program with four driving wins while Dean Magee drove two winners and Justin Anfinson scored a training double.
