Columbus, MN – The Thursday night (Sept. 10) harness racing program at Running Aces featured three divisions of the Minnesota-sired sophomore pacers as well as the weekly Mares Open Handicap pace.
Cool Mr Cool, driven by Casey Leonard, picked up his sixth win of the season with a 3-1/4 length tally in the $17,000 male “A” division in 1:53 as the heavy favorite while Westward Ho (driven by Brady Jenson) completed the exacta and Diesel Thunder Boy (Rick Magee) checked home in third.
Cool Mr Cool traveled in fourth early and then made a big move to the top on the backstretch and was never in doubt after taking control.
The $3 winner is by Wind Me Up and is owned by Kyle Larner, Jay DeLong and Terry Knothe and trained by Justin Anfinson.
Hotcheddar Flirt and trainer/driver Brady Jenson posted a career-best 1:53.4 victory by 3-3/4 lengths over Thiskidcanfly (Leonard) and Sparklinchardonnay (Nick Roland) in the $17,000 filly “A” division for her fifth career win.
The $3.40 winner is a daughter of Karpathian Kid and is owned by Dennis Green.
Wild About Me (Roland) made every pole a winning one as the overwhelming favorite in the $8,500 male “B” division for his second win of the season with a 1:55.1 tally over stablemate Luke Skyrocker (Jenson) and longshot Im Easy Peasy (Scott Cisco).
The $2.60 winner is by Wind Me Up and is owned by Set The Pace Racing and Ken Stauffer and trained by Roland.
K T Part E, by Cattlewash, and owner/trainer/driver Jenson picked up her 12th win of the year in the $17,000 Mares Open Handicap pace for her fifth victory in a row. She was 1-1/2 lengths better than Premier Desirey (Dean Magee) in 1:52.2, with Fillister Photo (Leonard) getting home in third.
The win return on KT Part E was $2.10.
Casey Leonard, Nick Roland and Brady Jenson all posted driving triples while Leonard and Jenson also posted training doubles on the program.
There are four more nights remaining in the 2026 live racing season at Running Aces, including Sunday (Sept. 13), Tuesday (Sept. 15), Friday (Sept. 18) and Saturday (Sept. 19). Post times are at 6 p.m. (CDT) with the exception of Tuesday, which has a first post of 7 p.m. (CDT).
