Lexington, KY – Acting on the advice of their medical team, the connections of Go Dog Go, two-time Breeders Crown-placed and a 2025 Stanley Dancer division winner, made the decision to geld the 4-year-old trotter.
Go Dog Go was diagnosed with a painful condition of ascending testicles. Following the surgery on Sept. 9 and upon testing of the removed testicles, Dr. Hernandez-Aviles of the Texas A&M University Theriogenology Clinic Service confirmed that the condition made Go Dog Go genetically sterile.
While disappointed the son of Greenshoe, out of the Muscle Hill mare Primary Target, will not stand at stud, Wiesman and his connections are glad the surgery will improve Go Dog Go’s quality of life.
Go Dog Go was third in both the 2024 and 2025 Breeders Crowns (G1) for male trotters and won a division of the 2025 Stanley Dancer Memorial (G3) at the Meadowlands. He’s earned over $700,000, setting a lifetime mark of 1:49.3 in a division of the Bluegrass Stakes (G3) at the Red Mile.
