Nichols, NY – Zenmeister S, driven by Kyle Swift, and Red Blooded, driven by Jim Pantaleano, took the co-features at Tioga Downs on Saturday (Sept. 12).
Zenmeister S came flying late to win the $12,500 Open II Trot.
Bully Boy Hill (driven by Mitchell Cushing) was first to the quarter in :27.3 and first to the half in :56.3. Purple Lord (Pantaleano) came first-up to challenge for the lead. Bully Boy Hill led to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they reached the stretch, Zenmeister S came flying three-wide and battled second-place finisher Purple Lord all the way to the wire. Zenmeister S got up in time to win in 1:55.1. Stmikes Kerryblues (Ron Cushing) finished third.
Zenmeister S is a 5-year-old gelding by Perfect Spirit. He is owned and trained by Gary Levine. It was his sixth win this season and his 11th career tally. He paid $17.16 to win.
Red Blooded charged late to capture the $12,500 Open II Pace.
Sun Of A Show (Cushing) controlled the early going as he led to the quarter in :26.2 and to the half in :55. Mr. Huggins (Fern Paquet Jr.) came first-up to challenge heading to the final turn. Sun Of A Show was first to three quarters in 1:22.1.
As they made the turn for home, Red Blooded made his move three-wide, heading to the lead in the stretch and beating out a tough second-place finisher Mr. Huggins to win in a lifetime best 1:50.3. Aces Or Bettor (Ron Cushing) took third money.
Red Blooded is a 4-year-old gelding by Boston Red Rocks. He is owned by Rick Berks and trained by Mike Deters. It was his fourth win in 2026. He now has 11 career victories. He paid $4.66 to win.
Pantaleano and Swift had driving hat tricks. Deters and Gary Levine had training doubles.
