Vernon, NY — Mybitcoin (John MacDonald) and Discus Hanover (Leon Bailey) took the co-features at Vernon Downs on Friday (Sept. 18).
Mybitcoin ($4.56) won the $7,500 featured fillies and mares pace.
Better Double Flip (Leon Bailey) led to the quarter in :27.2. She used a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in:56.4. Quarrel (Chris Long) came first-up to challenge as they headed around the final turn. Second-place finisher Better Double Flip shook her off and led to three-quarters in 1:24.4.
As they reached the stretch, Mybitcoin made her move going three-wide as she blasted by to defeat Better Double Flip in 1:53.1. Quarrel finished third.
Mybitcoin is a 5-year-old mare by Betting Line owned by Clement Lauzon and trained by Sara Baillargeon. It was her second win this season and her 13th career victory.
Discus Hanover ($6.64) captured the $7,500 featured trot.
Chapvious (Jacquavyian Carter) laid down all early fractions of :27.4, :57.1 and 1;26.3.
Second-place finisher TikTok Roy (Jimmy Whittemore) and third-place finisher Chapvious were slugging it out as they made the turn for home. Discus Hanover then found an opening by the pylons and slipped through to win in 1:55.
Discus Hanover is a 9-year-old gelding by Credit Winner owned by Phillip Hale and trainer David Dewhurst. It was his eighth win this season and his 64th career victory.
Chris Long had a driving grand slam, winning with Mary Kat, Rose Run Ashlee, Ariana Isonthehunt and Jabber Jaw. Leon Bailey had a driving hat trick.
