Delaware, OH – The Ron Burke-trained trio of Loua Dipa, Sandyboots Yankee, and I’m A Lou Lou lead a field of eight for the $265,000 Grade 1 Jugette, for 3-year-old female pacers, on Wednesday (Sept. 23) at the Delaware County Fair.
Loua Dipa (driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) has earned $1.15 million during her career for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi. The homebred daughter of Sweet Lou has 13 career wins in 21 starts. She missed a portion of the summer due to throat surgery, and qualified on Sept. 15 at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows in 1:51.2. She will leave from post 3.
Stablemate Sandyboots Yankee (Yannick Gingras) comes to Delaware on a three-race win streak, including her lifetime-best 1:49.4 at The Meadows on Sept. 5 in the Stallion Series final. The Always B Miki lass is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Larry Karr and Phil Collura.
I’m A Lou Lou (Tim Tetrick), a Sweet Lou filly, is a half-sister to 2014 Little Brown Jug champion Limelight Beach. She has earned $385,887 for the quartet of Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Larry Karr and Phil Collura.
The supplemental entry, Vanna By The River, drew post 8, but can improve that position as the results of the $25,000 first heat will determine the post positions for the $240,000 final.
