Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Department of Agriculture Wednesday announced enhancements to the New Jersey Sire Stakes program for 2027, including a 50% increase in Silver Series purses while keeping entry and nomination fees unchanged from 2026.
The program updates include:
- Silver Series legs increasing from $10,000 to $15,000 per elimination
- Silver Series finals increasing from $40,000 to $50,000 for fields of 8 or more
- Platinum Series purses remaining unchanged
- A new 20% bonus for eligible New Jersey-sired horses winning certain stakes races at the Meadowlands
The enhancements are intended to provide greater value to owners, trainers and breeders while supporting the continued growth of New Jersey’s horse-racing industry.
