Washington, PA – Three-year-old trotting fillies brought down the curtain on Hollywood Casino at The Meadows’ stakes season with two $24,775 Keystone Classic divisions Friday afternoon (Oct. 2).

PA Sire Stake Champion Little Road returned to The Meadows with a 1:53.3 Keystone Classic victory.
Regular driver Brady Brown sent the daughter of Fordham Flash right down the road through moderate fractions before a :27.4 final quarter sealed the win. Misty Blue and Aaron Merriman were second best, while Amber Ale Hanover picked up the show spot. Little Road has won seven of her last eight starts and is nine-for-15 on the year for owner, breeder, and trainer Roger Hammer of Bedford, PA.

The second Keystone Classic division would need the length of the stretch to determine Shemightbetheone the winner.
Nestled quickly behind I’ll Take the Cake, Shemightbetheone rode the pocket through friendly fractions that set up a sprint. A determined drive from Dave Palone coaxed a :27.4 final quarter to outsprint the front-runner for the nose victory.
Pat LaChance trains the daughter of Captain Corey for owners Ecurie CSL, QC. It was the sixth win of the season for Shemightbetheone, who boasts season earnings of more than $100,000.
Friday afternoon, Justin Irvine topped all drivers with three wins, while the Burke and Presto stables each sent out two winners.
Live racing resumes Wednesday (Oct. 7,) with a 13-race card. First-race post is 12:45 p.m.
