Dayton, OH – Fifty Rivers received a perfect pocket trip from Trevor Smith and edged Bargain (Luke Hanners) by a scant nose in the $26,000 Open II Handicap trot Wednesday (Oct. 7) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.
As soon as the gates’ wings folded, a four-way battle ensued between Drink Up Drink Up (Marvin Luna), Bargain, Fifty Rivers and Dans Credit (Luke Plano).
The heavy favorite, Bargain gained control and led past the opening panel in :27

Reggianito (Hugh Beatty) was flushed off the pylons by Private Access (Brett Miller) before the in :56.1.
Private Access make a break in stride, leaving Reggianito the sole outside challenger down the backstretch, until he took a bad step at the three-quarters in 1:24.
Smith tipped Fifty Rivers to the outside and was soon stride-for-stride with Bargain. The two trotted the final quarter in :28.1 and seemingly hit the line together in 1:52.
Dans Credit, a 107-1 long-shot, was third and Global Sensation (Jeremy Smith) rallied for fourth.
Fifty Rivers picked up his tenth win of the season for J M F Racing.
The four-year-old Fiftydollarbill gelding was making his second start for trainer Antonia Storer after spend his summer at Running Aces in Minnesota.
Drivers Kayne Kauffman and Jeremy Smith both picked up driving triples.
Kauffman guided Vekna (1:54.1), Tenille Towns (1:55.2) and State Of Fear (1:53.4) to victory.
Smith scored with Layallyourloveonme (1:52.2), Boot N Beer (1:53) and Triathlon As (1:54).
With the triple, Smith jumps to second in the tight Dayton Raceway driver’s standings with 11 wins.
