Dayton, OH – A pair of betting favorites, Currys Flurry (Jeremy Smith) and Boomarang (Chris Page) took care of business and each scored comfortable victories in the co-featured $20,000 Condition Claiming Paces on Friday (Oct. 9) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.

Currys Flurry left from post 5 and was able to cross over to the lead before the opening eighth of the mile, passing the quarter in :27.1. Rainrock (David Miller) started the outer flow as the field of nine passed the grandstand for the first time. The half was in :55.3
Currys Flurry rebuffed the Rainrock challenge and opened up some daylight from the pocket sitting Charge Me Up (Luke Hanners) before the three-quarters in 1:23.1.
The 4-year-old son of Papi Rob Hanover used a :27.3 final panel to stop the timer in 1:50.4. Charge Me Up was 1-1/2 lengths behind in second. Ss Druidstone (Luke Ebersole) closed for third.
The winner is trained by Walter Haynes, Jr. for Bob Carsey.
Currys Flurry won for the 5th time this season and for the ninth time of his career.
The Jeremy Smith/Walter Haynes, Jr. combo looked to double-up just three races later with Rockinpoppin, but the 2-5 bettors’ choice, Boomarang was too tough.
Rockinpoppin received the first call and led the field past the opening panel in :27.1.

Chris Page had Boomerang sitting third on the rail but didn’t want to risk getting boxed in and sent his colt to the front before the half in :55.4.
Inflation Proof (David Miller) made a front-side brush to challenge but could never get closer than the leader’s wheel disk.
The three-quarter mile station was passed in 1:23.3.
Rockinpoppin came out of the pocket around the final turn but came up a length short in 1:51.1. Inflation Proof photoed-out Johnny Up (Austin Hanners) for third. Ron Burke conditions the winner of $209,258.
Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Knox Services and James Zito share ownership of the Downbytheseaside gelding.
Driver Luke Hanners recorded a grand slam on the 14-race card. Jeremy Smith and Chris Page had driving triples.
Dayton Raceway wraps up its race week with another 14-race card on Saturday (Oct. 9), with a 4:00 p.m. first post.
