Corbin, KY — The United States Harness Driving Club (USHDC) Sunday (Oct. 25) feature at Cumberland Run went to its newest member driver, the French native Gregoire Joret, who guided owner-trainer Ron Vandervort’s Stun Gun to a stunning 3-1/2-length win in 1:54.4.
Joret, now implanted in New Jersey, won his “maiden” race here in the United States by guiding this 8-year-old son of Always B Miki to the handy win, despite the fact that he was outside the entire route through hot fractions early but, nonetheless, had plenty of room to spare at the wire.
Mankat, with Adarryl Gates, Jr. in the bike, was second while Caviart Stoney, handled by Roy Marohn, finished third.
Marlboro Seelster was next for Matthew Wilson while Mistertenahkey held on for the nickel.
Indeed, Mistertenahkey, leaving from the outside post eight, won an early battle with Caviart Stoney and took the field to a hot opener of :27.3 with Mankat next and Stun Gun on a double-bubble early binge going around Shadow Cat into fourth.
At the half in :56.3, Stun Gun moved alongside Mistertenahkey and battled with that one until wearing him down just a stride or two prior to the third station in 1:25.
Turning for home, Stun Gun and Mankato briefly got into a bit of a war, but Star Gun drew off once they straightened away.
The win was the second of the year for Stun Gun in 16 starts, vaulting his 2026 earnings to $32,748 and $129,611 career-wise.
The USHDC provides valued charitable contributions to worthy 501-C-3 organizations benefitting local and national charities as their members donate 100 percent of earnings collected driving in these races, and they have done this for the past three decades.
Racing continues at Cumberland Run through Nov. 10 with special stakes events highlighting their racing programs.
