by Michael Bozich, for Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — The 2015 Pepsi North America Cup winner, Wakizashi Hanover, proved best in the featured race on Sunday (April 22) at Harrah’s Philadelphia in an upper-conditioned level event going for a purse of $18,000.

Starting from post five, the gelded son of Dragon Again went right to the front and made every call a winning one, stopping the clock in 1:52 en-route to a one-length win. Cooperstown (Corey Callahan) finished second, while The Wayfaring Man (Yannick Gingras) was third.

It was the 22nd career win in start 69 for Wakizashi Hanover (Tim Tetrick) as his earnings continue to creep closer to the $1.5 million mark. He is owned by Bruce Kennedy and the Tri County Stables of Truto, Nova Scotia, and is trained by Jim King Jr.
