The annual Christmas in Middleburg parade will take place on Saturday (Dec. 2).

Last year’s parade had an estimated attendance of 20,000 spectators, who came from Washington, D.C. and the nearby suburbs of Virginia’s horse country.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. following the Middleburg Hound and Hunt Review which starts at 11 a.m.

The SRF’s participation in the parade has been organized by Judy Bokman and myself, Freddie Hudson. Returning to this year’s line-up includes Mark and Garnett Gray, Cheri Collison, Rachel Rhodes, Michelle Graham, Susan Arrington, Stephanie Mckaughan, Megan Caulfield, Janice Atwell and Kayleigh Marie Hirsh.

A funny incident occurred in last year’s parade. I was holding the SRF adopt-a-horse banner and Mark Gray’s horse mistakenly identified it as a starting gate and followed me through the whole parade as if I was the starting gate.
