Montpelier, OH — It was a fine evening of racing at the Williams County Fair on Tuesday (Sept. 12) as the Ohio Fair Racing Conference 2- and 3-year-old trotters and pacers went behind the gate in Montpelier in Northwestern Ohio.

In the $9,538 2-year-old filly trot it was Scott Altizer’s owned, trained and driven Man The Keg winning in 2:07.1h as the daughter of Manofmanymissions-Lucky Keg picked up her eighth win of the season.

L&L Devisser and Tina Seekman’s Won For Gigi was impressive in the $9,178 OFRC 3-year-old filly pace as the daughter of Santanna Blue Chip-Doc’s Lioness won by five in 1:59.2h and pushed her 2017 earnings past the $45,000 plateau.

Another good mile came from the Steve Novak-trained Believe In Waco when Art McIllmurray well-rated her to a victory in the $4,994 OFRC second division for 2-year-olds as she paced in 2:01.2h with a last half in :58.1.

Trainer Larry Lake would drive Janet Reid’s Noble Prince to a new lifetime mark of 2:05.3h in the non-winners trot as the 8-year-old gelding by Well Directed seems to have finally found himself.

David Lake would get a driving double as he closed the night’s program with the fastest time of the card when he piloted the Dan Mitchell-owned/Al Tomlinson-conditioned Betterluvnexttime to a sizzler in 1:58.4h. The 9-year-old mare by American Ideal-Darriwillian Girl picked up her 54th lifetime victory and now sports $636,450 in career earnings.
