Campbellville, ON — The first Saturday in May is one day away and Mohawk Racetrack will be the place to see “The Run for the Roses” and exciting harness racing.

The 142nd Kentucky Derby will be shown live on the Mohawk LED infield screen Saturday evening. Post time for the Derby is approximately 6:34 p.m.

Following the Derby, fans won’t have to wait long to enjoy live harness racing, as a special post time of 7:05 p.m. has been scheduled for Saturday’s card.

A strong 12-race card has been carded for Saturday evening, featuring Horse of the Year winners Wiggle It Jiggleit and State Treasurer clashing in the C$34,000 Preferred. The C$57,600 Diplomat Series and C$57,400 Princess Series finals also highlight Saturday’s card of racing.

Fans on-track Saturday will receive a Kentucky Derby lapel pin with the purchase of a live racing program. The Mohawk Trackside Bar and Patio will be serving mint juleps and fans can receive the official drink of the Kentucky Derby in a special collectable glass.

Doors to the racing section of the Grandstand open Saturday at 5 p.m.
