Lauren “Roy” Lingrel, 72, dies

Columbus, OH — Lauren “Roy” Lingrel, 72, of Byhalia, Ohio, died April 5, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1943, in Mt. Victory to Lauren A. and Grace (Fout) Lingrel. On Feb. 26, 1983, he married the former Connie Blanton in Delaware and she survives.

A 1961 graduate of Byhalia High School, he was a member of the Cypress Wesleyan Church in Galloway. He had worked as a machinist at Rockwell in Kenton. A member of the USTA, he was a driver, trainer and owner in the harness racing industry for 54 years.

Mr. Lingrel was a dedicated farmer who loved being outdoors. Above all else, family was most important to him.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; mother, Grace; sons, Charles, Shannon (Heather) and Troy (Colleen) Sedlock; daughters, December Miller and Shawna (Rick) Jones; sisters, Bonnie (Gary) Johnson, Linda Sparling and Debbie; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lauren A.

Funeral services will be Saturday (April 9) at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood. Burial will follow in Byhalia Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (April 8) from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Richwood.
