USTA handicapper Bob Pandolfo didn’t have any problem picking winners from the other side on opening night at the New Meadowlands.
Pandy had five winners on top in the 13 races with the winners paying $21.00, $7.20, $5.00, $4.40 and $2.40 and scored several big hits in the exotics.
Pandy started the card with a cold $67.40 Double. In the second race he picked the $126.20 exacta and $310.40 trifecta cold. He added cold $12.20 and $32.60 exactas in races four and 13, plus he had the $319.60 trifecta cold in the 13th race as well as having the $186.20 Late Double listed with the top winner in the second leg.
And in the 10th race, in his opinion the toughest race to handicap on the card, a three-horse box of Pandy’s top three picks hit the $291.60 exacta. The winner, Magic Tricks, paid $50.40 and Pandolfo made the horse 6-1 on his line and said, “Magic Tricks comes off a sick scratch but this 3-year-old fits well here if ready.”
