Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale to offer $1,000 sale credit

Middlebury, IN — Buyers participating in Friday’s Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale will have an opportunity to win a $1,000 credit toward the purchase of a yearling.

The sale credit will be drawn prior to Hoosier Classic’s first session, Oct. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. The credit is offered by sponsor Tribute Equine Nutrition.

The Hoosier Classic Sale will consist of two sessions held Oct. 25 and 26 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ West Pavilion. Each session is slated for 10 a.m., with the Classic Preview held Thursday (Oct. 24) from 6–9 p.m. Buyers can attend the preview to inspect yearlings and enjoy complimentary food and beverages. The Classic Preview is sponsored by Hoosier Park, Hubbard Feeds and the Indiana Standardbred Association.

A total of 364 Indiana-sired yearlings from the state’s top stallions will be offered during the two-day sale. Pedigrees featuring Standardbred Canada’s TrackIT technology, which displays up-to-the-minute updates since mid-August, can be found on the Hoosier Classic website, along with videos from many of the consignments. With the recent adoption of an updated breed development program for 2014, buyers have the opportunity to compete for lucrative purses throughout the Indiana Sire Stakes campaign, including five rounds of competition consisting of $20,000 eliminations, $75,000 finals and $25,000 consolations, capped by $200,000 Super Finals at season’s end.
