Charles E. Keller, III resigns as USTA District 11 director

Columbus, OH — Charles E. Keller, III has announced that he will resign from his position as a USTA Director for District 11 effective Oct. 15, 2013.

“On behalf of everyone from the USTA and its members, I’d like to thank Charlie for his significant contributions to our organization and industry,” said USTA President Phil Langley. “He will be missed, especially for his advice on financial matters.”

A replacement will be selected by the other District 11 directors Russell MacKinnon and William Moffett and will be seated at the upcoming district meeting in November.

Keller is president of Yankeeland Farms, Inc., in Frederick, Md. and has spent almost 60 years in the sport.

Yankeeland bred such top Standardbreds as 1970 Horse of the Year Fresh Yankee, Hambletonian winners Muscles Yankee and Yankee Paco, Yankee Co-Ed, Choice Yankee and Yankee Cruiser.

Keller, a graduate of the University of Maryland and the Baltimore College of Commerce, retired as a managing partner of Keller Bruner & Co., CPAs.

He is also a member of Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association, SBOA New Jersey, SBOA New York, SBOA Delaware, SBOA Virginia and American Institute of CPAs.
