Campbellville, ON — Harper Blue Chip, trained by Mark Steacy, will look for his third straight victory when he begins in the C$365,000 William Wellwood Memerial Trot on Saturday at Mohawk.
The trotting son of Majestic Son-Winning Jonlin captured his elimination in 1:56.1 with Sylvain Filion at the helm.
Owned by Mark Steacy, David McDonald, David Reid and Landmark 6 Racing, Harper Blue Chip has banked $67,444 in six starts this season, including three wins.
A $40,000 yearling purchase, Harper Blue Chip will begin from post three in the rich final.
