Meadows handicapping contest offers free berth in WHHC

by Evan Pattak, for the Meadows

Washington, PA — A free berth in the 2014 World Harness Handicapping Championship is the prize for the winner of the “Pick & Pray Free WHHC Qualifier” handicapping contest that The Meadows Racetrack & Casino will conduct Saturday (July 20), as part of a card that features eliminations for the $600,000 (est.) Delvin Miller Adios.

The Meadows is offering the contest in association with HorseTourneys.com, which has worked with the United States Trotting Association on a number of similar events.

For the contest, participants must place hypothetical wagers — $2 win/place on a single horse only — on designated races on Saturday’s card; contest races will be selected after Tuesday’s Adios eliminations draw. Picks for all races in the contest must be submitted once selections for the first race close. Free past performances will be available from TrackMaster.

The winner receives an automatic entry, valued at $1,000, in the WHHC final scheduled for April 2014 at the Meadowlands. Prize pool for the championship is projected at $100,000. While there is no charge to participate in The Meadows’ Pick & Pray Qualifier, the field is limited to the first 1,200 entries.

Only one entry per household will be accepted. To register (http://horsetourneys.com/contest/1419) and for a complete list of contest rules, please visit the HorseTourneys website at www.horsetourneys.com/rules.
