John Ryan, 78, dies

Columbus, OH — John Ryan, 78, died on March 28, 2013.

Mr. Ryan immigrated to the United States in the 1960s and starting with one house, built a highly successful construction business, with hundreds of homes in the south suburbs of Chicago.

Mr. Ryan raced under the Curragh Stable banner for about 20 years with his first good horse being B J’s Chance, followed by Fox Valley Arsenic, Pause To Admire and more recently, Beach Romance, Tilt Ya Kilt N and Foxland.

He loved harness racing and owned approximately 100 horses in his life.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bridie; four daughters; and one son.
