Willard Dale Hall, Sr., 84, dies

Columbus, OH — Willard Dale Hall, Sr., 84, died March 25, 2013, at the Forum at Brookside in Prospect, Ky.

Born in Pocomoke City, Md., on Dec. 14, 1928, he was a son of the late Willis C. and M. Virginia Conaway Hall. Mr. Hall graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1946 and retired from NASA, Wallops Island, Va., as a safety officer.

He was the husband of the late Jean Fisher Hall (1997).

Mr. Hall was also a logger and a farmer, as well as a breeder, trainer and campaigner of Standardbred.

He is survived by his sons, Col. W. Dale Jr., USMC, Ret. (Conni) and Rev. Gary Lynn (Julie); daughter, Deborah (Michael) Waiz; brothers, Edgar, Rev. James (Barbara) and Willis; grandchildren, Sara, Kathryn, Kristen, Benjamin, Ashley, Lauren, Rachel and Ryan; great grandchildren, Logan, Sydney, Ethan, Benjamin and Abigail; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lee Hall Bailey Forman; and great grandchildren, Adelaide Roberts and Wyatt Roberts.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation at the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A. in Pocomoke City on Monday (April 1) from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service, officiated by the Rev. Paul Elligson, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (April 2), in the First Baptist Cemetery, 2240 Old Snow Hill Road, Pocomoke City, MD 21851. Following the interment the family will gather for a reception at the First Baptist Church Social Hall.
