Berlin, MD — Ocean Downs will host the preliminary round of Maryland Sire Stakes on Wednesday (July 18) and Thursday (July 19).

The 2-year-olds go as three early non-wagering events starting at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday night.

The stallion Cam’s Rocket has the most starters on Wednesday but other Maryland stallions represented are Best Mood, Capitol Power, Up Front Charlie, Straight Up Lindy and You Betcha.

On Thursday the 3-year-olds have two early races starting at 6:30 p.m. and the first and sixth races on the card.

The filly trot will renew the rivalry between Mrs Weasley and Tejano Chick but Little Australia and newcomer Shelby-J are ready for their chance. The colt pace is the rematch between In Front Charlie, Infinit Power, Rock N Jam and Hotspeed and the colt trot is a wide open field with the absence of Googoo Gaagaa. The filly pacers have a full field with rivals Brite Jet and Rockin Roxanne leaving from posts seven and eight, respectively.

Summer Showdown Finals for the 2-year-olds are on Wednesday (July 25) and the Summer Showdown Finals for 3-year-olds are on Sunday (July 29).
