Paulding, OH — The 2012 Ohio fair racing season kicked off Tuesday night (June 12) at the Paulding County Fair at Paulding. Fourteen races (ten harness races and four Trottingbred races) were contested on a beautiful June evening.
Rosemary LeVan’s Man He Can Skoot (Mantacular-Skoot’n By) captured the fastest split of the 3-year-old colt pace in 2:02. Herb LeVan trains the gelding, with Jack Dailey picking up the winning drive. Tatas Flash (Memphis Flash-Matata) took the other division in 2:04.2. Barbie Conner conditions the gelding for Pam and Michelle Riedeman and Bob Figgins. Robert Dinning picked up the winning catch-drive on Tatas Flash.
Mike Wolfe guided Rose Run Nemo (Trainforthefuture-Pickachu) to victory in the 3-year-old colt trot. Larry, Matt and David Waltz own the gelding with Matt doing the training. Rose Run Nemo toured the Paulding oval in 2:07.
Samantha Truant (Nobleland Sam-Armbro Truant) grabbed the winner’s share in the 2-year-old filly pace with a mile in 2:09. Dan Venier trains and drives the filly and also co-owns her with Kenneth Saunders.
John Konesky III steered Countonme (Full Count-Indian Hill Ruby) to the winner’s circle in the 2-year-old filly trot after a mile in 2:19. John also trains Countonme and co-owns her with his son, Patrick.
Racing concludes at the Paulding County Fair on Wednesday night (June 13) with eight harness races. Post time for the first race will be 6 p.m.
