Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $75,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Feb. 25, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 I didn’t hit Friday night, minus $24, which brings the total to minus $387 for the first 22 nights; I haven’t hit one so far this meet. It was close again last night. I had three winners in the sequence for the second night in a row, including a $7.00 winner and a $13.20 winner. I’m having a good meet. Last night I had five winners on top and my Best Bet paid $7.00. But no Pick-4 yet. The $387 deficit isn’t really much to overcome. I’m going to stick with small tickets and see what happens. Tonight’s Pick-4 looks difficult. $1 play: 2/18/310/58 = $8 Analysis: Race 6: (2) Transcending has been facing much tougher. I think there are a lot of ways to go here and I’m not confident using two or three so I’m just going to single this one. Race 7: (8) Doubletrouble had post 10 against tougher in last and probably needed the race, picks up Sears tonight. (1) Vertical Horizon also drops and has earnings over $800K. Race 8: (3) Cobalt Man drops in for a tag. (10) Gentleman Friend gets post 10 but qualified well, makes his second start of the year and ran some huge races against much tougher claimers last year. Race 9: (5) Border Fighting was my top pick at $62.60 two back and finished strong for the place from post nine in last. (8) Western Trademark plunges in class and has already won twice for this price here this meet.
