No application yet for Valley View Downs gaming license

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s Director of Communications Doug Harbach says stories published on Tuesday, including at ustrotting.com, claiming a gaming license was approved for Valley View Downs were erroneous.

In fact, Harbach noted that an application for a gaming license for Valley View Downs has not been filed at this time.

This past July, the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission conditionally awarded the state’s final harness racing racino license to American Harness Tracks to operate Valley View Downs, to be built in Lawrence County, Pa. In issuing the license, the Racing Commission required American Harness Tracks to obtain a license from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to operate slot machines and table games.
