The furry, friendly, fun-loving mascot for the Wisconsin Harness Horse Association (WHHA) is proving so popular; he had to get his own E-mail address.
WILLIE WINIT (Willhemakeit–Willshewinit) is the bay pacer on hand for race meets, fundraisers and special events hosted by the WHHA. At this spring’s annual Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Willie was the hit of the standardbred aisle. “It’s amazing how much interest he draws, wherever he goes,” explains Gabe Wand, WHHA President. “Kids (heck, even the grown-up kids) love him.”
Although no longer racing, Willie is able to share “insider” news from around the Wisconsin circuit in his blog found on the WHHA website: www.wiharnessracing.com. Just click on the “Harness the Stars” link to find Willie’s information and everything you need to know about harness racing in the badger state.
“He’s a great educational tool, and a wonderful ambassador for the sport and the WHHA,” says Becky Swinehart, a longtime WHHA Board Member.
