Columbus, OH — The 2010 debut edition of “Here They Come,” the U.S. Trotting Association’s video podcast, is now online.

The show will air twice during December, and then on an every-other-week basis until the video magazine show “Eye on Harness Racing” returns in the spring.

“Here They Come,” hosted by USTA Communications Director Kate Lockhart and USTA Internet News Manager Paul Ramlow, will offer some new features — and take a different tack — during its 2010 run: “We’re going to be commenting rather than just rehashing racing news,” Ramlow said.

Recognizing that people in the sport have already read the news or seen race results online at www.ustrotting.com before their show airs, Lockhart and Ramlow will discuss — in-depth — what is behind the sport’s headlines. For example, the balloting for the Dan Patch Awards and Horse of the Year, including potential age, sex and gait finalists, will be this week’s topic.

“Ken Weingartner (of the USTA’s Harness Racing Communications office) will be a regular contributor,” Ramlow said. “He’ll visit a track or training center to ask horsemen a “question of the week” — or simply see what’s on their minds.”

The show will also have a new look. This year the show is being produced on video, instead of the “audio only” format from a year ago.
