Muscle Massive to stand stud at Hanover

Hanover, PA — Hanover Shoe Farms has announced that 2010 Hambletonian winner Muscle Massive 2,1:57; 3,1:51 ($1,239,138) will enter the farm’s stallion ranks beginning with the 2011 breeding season. The colt will be syndicated with Hanover purchasing an interest. His initial stud fee will be $10,000.

In addition to being by leading trotting sire Muscles Yankee, Muscles Massive is out of the stakes winning and stakes producing Pine Chip broodmare Graceful Touch 2,1:56.1 ($161,893), she in turn being one of only two foals out out of the incredibly fast Valley Victory mare Act Of Grace 2,1:55.3, 3,1:52.3 ($403,523). The other was her full brother, the stakes winner Cobol 2,2:00.3f, 3,1:54 ($417,457).

Muscle Massive is a full brother to the multiple stakes winner Muscle Mass 2,1:53.4 ($229,000) and a half brother to this year’s Merrie Annabelle winner Thatsnotmyname 2,1:55-’10 ($335,250).

Muscle Massive was the highest-priced yearling in the 2008 class, bringing $425,000. He was purchased by and trained throughout his career by Jimmy Takter for a select group of his most prominent owners including wife Christina. He will arrive at Hanover shortly after next week’s Harrisburg sale.
