Modern Connection and Mark MacDonald were 1:54 winners.

Stonebridge Damsel was quickest off the gate from post nine but released Imagine Semalu (Mario Baillargeon) to the lead just as the fillies rolled past the opening panel in :27.2.

As Imagine Semalu took her rivals past the half in :56.2, Modern Connection (Mark MacDonald) was positioned sixth and MacDonald pulled on the right line to work out a perfect second-over trip as he followed co-favorite Lauren into the final turn.

Imagine Semalu and Lauren were heads apart at the three-quarter pole in 1:25.3 but it was Modern Connection who exploded off cover late in the mile to capture the C$130,000 event in 1:54. Lauren held on for second over Lady Jill (Chris Christoforou).

Yousif Yousif and Ameer Najor own the daughter of Modern Art who is trained by Joe Seekman. With C$232,797 in freshman earnings, Modern Connection will be eligible to participate in the C$300,000 OSS Super Final on November 13 at Woodbine Racetrack.
