Saratoga Springs, NY — Saturday night (August 7) was another night of New York Sire Stakes action at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway on a week chalk full of the state’s young stars performing at the Spa.

Aruba Vacation scored in 1:57.3 for Dan Cappello, Jr.

The favorites had a good night as the 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters battled it out in their $48,000-plus per division stakes races.

The evening’s fastest stakes winner was Aruba Vacation who lengthened his win streak behind a 1:57.3 wire-to-wire win with Dan Cappello, Jr. at the lines for trainer Guy Howard. The Dream Vacation sophomore is looking like he may be the favorite amongst the 3-year-old trotters after recording his fourth consecutive stakes win on Saturday.

Blacktuxwhitesocks moved his bankroll to over a quarter million dollars with his front running win for Jeff Gregory on Saturday as they cruised to a 1:57.4 score.

Whata Winner (Jim Doherty) continued the trend of favorites winning stakes races with a 1:58.4 victory while Celebrity Blue Chip set a lifetime mark in stopping the timer in 1:58.1 for Wally Hennessey.

The only mild upset on the stakes card saw Dan Daley’s New Yorks Finest pass heavily favored Margarita Man en route to his first Sire Stakes win.

After a full week of stakes action, Saratoga will not feature the New York Sire Stakes again until Saturday, August 21.

Live racing resumes on Tuesday night (August 10) at Saratoga and continues each night through Saturday. First post time every night in August is 7:20 p.m.
