Arrangements announced for Paul Doherty

East Rutherford, NJ — Arrangements have been announced for Paul Doherty, assistant trainer for the Ray Schnittker Stable, who died after a brief illness at age 52 on Monday, July 6.

Doherty worked with a host of top trotting and pacing talent during his time in the Schnittker Stable, most notably 2008 Hambletonian winner Deweycheatumnhowe.

Among the family he leaves behind are his wife, Roxanne, a longtime employee of Meadowlands Racetrack, and brother, Hall of Fame driver-trainer Jim Doherty.

Visitation hours will be held Wednesday, July 8, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, July 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, N.J. A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew The Apostle Church, 400 Mount Prospect Avenue, Clifton, N.J.
