Classic Series third leg at The Meadowlands

by Nick Salvi, executive director, The Classic Series

East Rutherford, NJ — The third preliminary leg of The Classic Series (TCS) will go postward on Saturday (July 19) as a part of the Meadowlands Pace card.

The stars are surely out in force for the last leg. The 39 horses entered in Classic events have compiled nearly $30 million in career earnings, including 11 with over a million dollars on their individual cards.

The Classic Distaff (race two) pits familiar rivals Southwind Tempo, Darlin’s Delight and My Little Dragon against seven other top flight mares.

The accomplished pair of Mr Feelgood and Total Truth lead the field of nine in the Pacing Classic, scheduled as the third race on the program.

Last year’s Classic Oaks Final winner Buck I St Pat heads up the nine mare field for the Classic Oaks in race five and Arch Madness will leave the starting gate with a one length advantage on his nemesis, Corleone Kosmos, who has drawn in the second tier in the 11-horse Trotting Classic (race seven).

The top point earners throughout the series will compete for $250,000 in each of the four Classic Series divisions next Saturday (July 26) at The Meadowlands.
