Nominations due at Plainridge

by Lenny Calderone, for Plainridge Racecourse

Plainville, Ma — Nominations for the 2007 edition of the Stan Bergstein Pace at Plainridge Racecourse close on June 15.

The sixth annual running of the series for 3-year-old pacing colts will take place during the first two weeks of July. A $10,000 elimination on Monday, July 2, will be followed by the $25,000 added final on Monday, July 9.

Plainridge Racecourse will also honor a noted horse with an event for 2-year-olds. The Art Attack, a race for freshman pacers, remembers one of the toughest horses ever to set foot on the track here. Owned by New England favorite Ted Wing, Art Attack was a two-time starter in the Bert Beckwith Pace, which is the premier race of each and every season at Plainridge.

The Art Attack will consist of a $5,000 elimination on Monday, July 9, with the $10,000 final on July 16. Nominations also close on June 15.

Further information, including nomination forms, for both the Stan Bergstein Pace and the Art Attack are available on the Plainridge Web site at www.prcharness.com.
