The temperature is not the only thing heating up in the Windy City as live harness racing action resumes at Balmoral Park on Sunday night.

With a big 12-race card on tap for the Fathers Day opener racing fans will be in for quite a treat as a bevy of state-bred stake elimination’s will be contested.

Sophomore pacing and trotting fillies will be featured in several Violet Stake elim’s. These events will draw plenty of attention as last year’s Two-Year-Old champions My Metallica (pace) and Victor’s Finesse (trot) each make their 2006 Balmoral Park debuts.

The “boys” will also get their turn to shine as trotting and pacing colts square off in Cardinal Stake elimination’s. Early season sensation Trivoli, who has won five of his first seven career starts headlines the trotting side of the docket. On the pacing side freshman sensation Hot N Sporty looks to post his third win in four starts as a sophomore.

We’ll also get our first look at what could be this year’s two-year-old Illinois conceived and foaled stars on Sunday as freshman pacing colts contest a pair of Jimmy Sunshine Stake elimination’s.

It promises to be a hot and heavy summer season of stakes action on the blistering one-mile oval here at Balmoral Park so sit back and enjoy the action starting this Sunday!
