Next Flight wins a Delaware Special at Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. – Henry Farragalli III, Del Cote, Jack Bauman and Henry Faragalli Jr.’s Next Flight (Ron Pierce) won the featured $16,500 Delaware Special Monday at Harrington Raceway in 1:53.2.

The Del Cote-trainee received a perfect two hole trip behind pacesetting Ima Rustler Too. Pierce awaited room in the stretch when he surged by Ima Rustler Too late for a narrow win. It was one of three wins on the program for Pierce.
Prior to the races, a ceremony was held for the late Bobby (Boo) Myers Jr., who passed away Thursday June 1. Myers was a popular figure among horsemen, and a very successful trainer for the last 15 years. An outpouring of friends and family showed their support in the winner’s circle for a moment of silence.
Racing continues Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. post time.
