Freehold, NJ — Owner/trainer Donald Queen’s Treasure Cam has been made the heavy 4-5 morning line favorite as she attempts to sweep the Green Acres series for two-year-old New Jersey-sired pacing fillies with a victory in the $35,000 series finale at Freehold Raceway on Thursday.
Treasure Cam has been superb in the Green Acres series. The daughter of Cam’s Card Shark has won divisions of the four preliminary rounds, most recently posting a lifetime mark of 1:571 this past Thursday, which equaled the Green Acres record held jointly by Falconstor (2002) and Make Me Money (2004). All told, Treasure Cam has registered six victories in seven career outings with earnings of $23,120.
Jeff Gregory, who has guided Treasure Cam in all of her Green Acres tallies, will drive. The duo will leave the gate from post two.
The main threat to the favorite figures to be Make Me Money. In last week’s leg of the Green Acres, the Dream Away filly worked out a good trip leaving from post ten in the second tier and finished only a length behind Treasure Cam. Prior to that outing, Make Me Money had won two preliminary legs of the Green Acres, including her Green Acres record-tying performance on August 19.
Make Me Money has drawn post one for the final and will open on the board as the 7-5 second choice in the early line. George Brennan, trainer Mark Harder’s reinsman of choice for Make Me Money, will be in the sulky.
Rounding out the field are: Whataride, How Great Thou Art, Dylans Girlfriend and Bay Side.
First post for Thursday’s 12 race slate at Freehold has been set for 12:30 p.m.
