Springfield, IL — After the cancellation of racing at the Illinois State Fair on Friday (Aug. 10) 20 races were conducted Saturday (Aug. 11) as eliminations took place for next Wednesday’s championship day.

With the numerous eliminations being contested, there was no bigger one than the Illinois-bred, 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers elimination. The first elimination was led by Fox Valley Gemini as he was in search of his 17th consecutive victory to open his racing career.

It wasn’t to be though as You’remyhearthrob pulled off the upset, getting the early jump on Fox Valley Gemini and never looking back, winning in 1:50.3. The victory by You’remyhearthrob marked the 1,000th career win for driver Kyle Wilfong. The homebred is trained by Brett Wilfong.
