USTA seeks Youth Delegates

Columbus, OH — The U.S. Trotting Association (USTA), in conjunction with the Harness Horse Youth Foundation, is seeking applicants between the ages of 14-20 to participate as members of its Youth Leadership Development Subcommittee. Deadline for application is Wednesday (May 1).

Written applications must include a statement of recommendation from an industry participant.

Currently there are open positions in USTA Districts:

2 (Michigan, Indiana)
3 (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon,
Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska)
4A (Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas)
8 (New York)
8A (New York)
11 (Delaware, D.C., Maryland and Virginia)

If selected to serve on the subcommittee, delegates will be involved in projects with USTA staff and directors to improve the youth experience in harness racing and promote harness racing to a younger audience. Delegates will benefit from possible academic credit, opportunities for published work and leadership training.

Applicants must be or become a USTA member or USTA youth member. One delegate will be selected for each USTA district. Districts are listed at www.ustrotting.com/directors.cfm.

The term of service for those selected will be two years.
