Washington, PA — The longest shot in the field at 22-1, Tequila Talkin sustained a first-over bid that carried him to the upset in Monday’s (Aug. 5) $18,000 Open 1 Handicap Trot at The Meadows. Tony Hall collected six wins on the 13-race card.

When Tequila Talkin moved from fourth after the leader Barn Girl, it seemed only a matter of time before the venerable mare put him away. But the 4-year-old Cantab Hall-Margarita Nights gelding not only edged past Barn Girl late for Jim Pantaleano, but he also held off the rallying Try Try Again by a nose in 1:54.3. Barn Girl saved show.
