Trebol’s winning streak ends at 56

Spanish trotter Trebol was defeated at the Hipodromo Torre del Mar at the island Menorca last Sunday (Oct. 13). Had Trebol won, his world record for winning consecutive races would have been 57.

But Sunday afternoon Trebol was a beaten third in a race at his home track.

So the world record for most consecutive wins for a Standardbred is 56 races.

Trebol’s winning streak ran from Sept. 30, 2017 to Oct. 5, 2019.

The record for Thoroughbreds is also 56 consecutive wins, held by Camarero, who won the races in Puerto Rico in 1953-1955.
