Milton, ON — Adare Castle and Silver Label captured a pair of SBOA Stakes finals on an abbreviated Saturday evening (May 21) card at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The five contested races did include a pair of SBOA Stakes finals for 3-year-old fillies.

I Love Ongait charged from post 10 to grab command, posting opening fractions of :26.3 and :55.2. Silver Label got away fourth and made the first-up bid around the far turn. After reaching three-quarters in 1:23.1, I Love Ongait showed plenty of heart in an attempt to fight off the heavy favorite, but Silver Label would not be denied, winning by three-quarters of a length in 1:51.1.

Trained by Nick Gallucci, Silver Label was making her season debut Saturday for owner-breeder Millar Farms. The daughter of Bettors Delight won six of eight starts during her rookie campaign. Her only losses were runner-up finishes to stablemate Prohibition Legal.
