Added day of racing at Van Wert, Ohio

Van Wert, OH — The Van Wert County Fair at Van Wert, Ohio, has cancelled its annual Labor Day Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse races due to a shortage of entries. They have decided to replace that program with a harness racing program.

The races will take place on Monday (Sept. 6) with a noon post time. The entries will close on Sunday (Sept. 5) at 10 a.m. Entries may be made online through the USTA or phoned to Bill Peters at 614.984.9515 or 419.630.5952.

The conditions for the races are as follows:

EVENT 1: Pace for non-winners of $4,000 Lifetime (Also eligible, maidens) (Also eligible, 2-year-olds)

EVENT 2: Trot for non-winners of $4,000 Lifetime (Also eligible, maidens) (Also eligible, 2-year-olds)

EVENT 3: Pace for non-winners of $3,000 in 2021 (Also eligible, 3-year-olds)

EVENT 4: Trot for non-winners of $3,000 in 2021 (Also eligible, 3-year-olds)

EVENT 5: Pace for non-winners of $2,500 since July 15, 2021

EVENT 6: Trot for non-winners of $2,500 since July 15, 2021

EVENT 7: Spring Haven Farm Ladies Driving Series Pace

EVENT 8: Free For All Pace

EVENT 9: Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association Trot
