Lexington, KY — The Kentucky Sires Stakes continue with the second leg on Thursday night (September 1) at The Red Mile, with over a quarter of a million dollars on the line on the 15-race all stakes program.
It will be the final opportunity for 2- and 3-year-old trotters and pacers to earn enough points to make the $2 million ‘Night of Champions’ to be held on Sunday, September 11.
Freshman trotters filled the entry box, with three $15,000 divisions needed for both colts and fillies. The card is filled with great betting opportunities, including two 11-horse fields (3-year-old filly pacers and 3-year-old colt trotters) and one field of 12 (2-year-old colt pacers). Those three races are carded as the final three legs of the Pick-4 which begins in race six.
Live racing continues at The Red Mile every Thursday, Friday, and Sunday evening with a first post of 7 p.m.
