Mr. Strozewski, from Mentor, Ohio, was selected as the recipient because of his continuous cooperation and willingness to assist with HHYF fundraising projects.

“Art simply couldn’t be more accommodating when it comes to helping us,” said HHYF President Callie Davies-Gooch. “He goes above and beyond both in selecting pieces for our silent auction as well as in helping us with our efforts in marketing.”

An admirer of horses and fan of harness racing but jeweler by trade, Art began offering his harness horse collections at the request of his customers. He carries an extensive selection but also welcomes the opportunity to create custom pieces. His company has received several equine jewelry design awards including one from Spruce Meadows in Alberta.

The formal presentation of the HHYF Service to Youth Award will take place between races at The Red Mile on Friday, October 3, 2008.

Established in 1976, the Harness Horse Youth Foundation addresses youth education throughout the United States and Canada. A charitable organization, the HHYF provides opportunities for hands-on learning with harness horses as well as printed information for further study and administration of scholarships.
