The Morrow County Fair, in Mount Gilead, Ohio, kicked off its program at 11 a.m., the Richwood Independent Fair, in Richwood, Ohio, held a split-session program at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and the Van Wert County Fair, in Van Wert, Ohio, finished the day’s racing with a 6:30 p.m. post time.

On a sunny Tuesday (Aug. 26), Ubrute put an end to Brandon Blvd’s undefeated record while breaking his maiden in 1:50.1 in the $80,000 fourth-round leg of the Kentucky Championship Series at the Red Mile. The 14-race card offered also two $30,000 fourth-round legs of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, three $15,000 fourth-round legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series, and two $10,000 fourth-round legs of the Kentucky Wildcat Series for 2-year-old male pacers.
Rookie trotting colts in Philly stakes action
In Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and Stallion Series competition at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 24), 2-year-old trotting colts and geldings contested their fourth and final preliminary leg, racing for a combined $177,378 and adding enough points to make their upcoming rich Championships: the Sire Stakes horses at Philadelphia on Friday, Sept. 5, and the Stallion Series competitors on Monday, Sept. 8, at Pocono.
